Three cheers for Happy January 1, 2012!1) We think fast food is equivalent to pornography, nutritionally speaking.
~Steve Elbert
Start New Year with good food! I hope that everyone had many tasty salads, roasted chickens with mashed potatoes, sweets, cakes, and oranges with champagne. While it is not as much of a tradition in Canada, New Year is nothing without oranges and champagne: a rich and languid taste of fruits coupled with a buzzing and bitter-sweet carbonated delight. Such a delicate touch starts the holiday cheer going. Usually there is a friend or two who drink so full of it that the cheer floats above in a song about something obscene that stirs the crowd. Soon, many voices erupt with different songs. Over the wild din caused by relatives and friends, the simple words of "Happy New Year!" work their magic.
2) Good food ends with good talk.
~Geoffrey Neighor
Start New Year with a good conversation! Calling friends who you never get to see/talk to or making up for a quarrel is a good start. Relatives, friends (friends in the cyberspace included) and loved ones are surely all good-spirited at this time of year. It would be a shame not to tell them how special they are! In fact, all people in your life make a difference. It is important to give complements and cherish them at this time of year. After all, they will be there for you for the whole year to come. Gratitude should not be silent. I congratulate all fellow deviants and encourage them to speak a few words of good intentions to the people they care about!
3) I think my new thing will be to try to be a real happy guy. I'll just walk around being real happy until some jerk says something stupid to me.
~Jack Handy
Why not? Try new things this year! Get a new version of Photoshop, try going into animation, 3D modeling or film making. Be creative and think outside the box! New things allow for a new mindset. Whatever you got in your Christmas presents experiment, share, and enjoy. Unless it is not all about quantum mechanics, the process of going into the right state of mind should be easy. One of the most popular enjoyable and new things to do now would be learning how to ski or snowboard. Slopes can be rather fun, especially the ones with such names as "Heaven's Sake", "Coffin", and "Devil's Advocate" a guaranteed exciting experience for you and your friends. Skating is an excellent alternative. Skating is stalking people on ice you ride after some person, but then you disappear before they pay any mind to you.
